In 1 Peter 2:11, we read, “Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul.” The term Peter uses here for “aliens” is best translated by the term “resident aliens”; those who live in a country but have no immediate plans for departure, a permanent resident whose home is far off. Many of us here at ICF-Frankfurt find ourselves in just such a position. What a joy to be able to experience such a living illustration. As Christians we are all resident aliens, waiting upon the Lord to come back and re-new his good creation and rid the world of evil once and for all. For many of us Germany is not our home, but it is our residence for the time being. While we are here we, as the body of Christ, join together in worship, in study, in mission, and in fellowship all the while we share the joys and sorrows of life together. We hope this blog will be a valuable resource for you during your time here in Frankfurt. On it you will find resources, announcements, prayer requests, special materials, news and much more!
